Frequently asked questions

What is the load capacity of each level of this shelving?
Each of the 3 levels of this shelving is designed to support a maximum distributed load (UDL) of 1000 kg. It is crucial not to exceed this limit to ensure the structural integrity of the system.
How many pallets fit in this configuration?
On the 269 cm beams, you can store up to 3 European pallets or 2 American pallets per level. This allows for great versatility depending on the type of goods you usually handle.
Is it necessary to anchor the shelving to the floor?
Yes, for safety reasons and current regulations, we always recommend anchoring the uprights to the floor. This ensures the shelving remains stable against possible impacts or unbalanced loads.
Are the structure colors always blue and orange?
Indeed, this standard model maintains the classic combination of navy blue uprights and orange beams. These colors are not only aesthetic but also help to clearly visualize the load levels.
Can this shelving be expanded in the future?
Yes, the system is modular and allows for the addition of modules according to your warehouse space needs. You can contact our technical team to configure an extension compatible with your current installation.
Floor anchoring is mandatory: the frames are fixed to the floor with the anchors included in the kit. The rack is assembled by slotting the parts together, with no screws; the anchors are only for fixing it to the floor. The stated load is per level, for a uniformly distributed static load and with the structure correctly assembled and leveled.

Applicable regulations in Ireland

Pallet racking and forklift operation

In Ireland, pallet racking in a forklift-served warehouse is work equipment under Part 2, Chapter 2 of the General Application Regulations 2007 (S.I. No. 299/2007), implementing the EU Work Equipment Directive (now Directive 2009/104/EC). installed and located correctly (Reg. 28); stabilised by clamping or some other means where necessary for safety (Reg. 33), in practice erected as per the manufacturer’s instructions with the uprights anchored to the floor; maintained throughout its working life (Reg. 31); and inspected by a competent person after installation and re-assembly, then periodically and by special inspection after an accident, a modification or any other exceptional event, with records kept for 5 years (Reg. 30). Traffic routes must be dimensioned for the number of users and the type of undertaking, pedestrians given sufficient safety clearance where trucks share them, and areas where objects could fall clearly indicated and access controlled (Reg. 14). Health and Safety Authority guidance asks for the maximum safe load prominently marked on all racks, racking checked regularly for damage and uprights protected from impact; its Code of Practice on the Safe Use of Industrial Trucks adds that features of the operating area such as racking should be clearly marked and protected against accidental damage. EN 15635, the European standard on the use and maintenance of storage equipment, is a technical reference for organising those checks, not a legal obligation.
