Description · Industrial Steel Shelving Unit 200 kg
This broad steel shelving unit measuring 200x200x60 cm optimises large wall spaces in Irish stockrooms and commercial workshops. Finished in a clean blue coating, it features four height-adjustable levels capable of holding up to 200 kg per shelf with an overall module capacity of 800 kg. The frame is assembled by screwing bracing bars to the upright columns, while beams and shelves slot securely without bolts. Ideal for hand-loading bulky boxes or trade goods, this SP ProSpan unit delivers reliable, organised storage across a full two-metre span.
Featuring four distinct loading levels, this heavy-duty steel shelving unit allows you to store up to 200 kg on each level when the weight is evenly distributed. This generous single-shelf load capacity makes it effortless to organise heavy stock boxes, workshop equipment, or retail inventory without worrying about shelf deflection. By spreading your bulky items across four clear tiers, your workspace stays neat and fully accessible. Tradespeople and warehouse managers benefit from instant visibility, ensuring daily picking and restocking routines remain completely efficient and safe across every tier.
Measuring 200 cm in height, 200 cm in width, and 60 cm in depth, broad industrial steel shelving units like this provide massive surface area for oversized items. The deep 60 cm shelf profiles easily accommodate large plastic crates, archive boxes, hardware tubs, and heavy tools without anything hanging awkwardly over the edges. Because all four loading levels are fully adjustable in height, you can tailor the space between shelves to match your exact inventory dimensions, maximizing available vertical room inside any busy work area.
Constructed for reliable strength, this modular steel shelving unit comprises four 200 cm upright columns, six short bracing bars, four long bracing bars, eight side beams, and eight metal shelf panels. The assembly process is straightforward: the bracing bars are bolted directly to the columns to assemble two sturdy end frames, while the horizontal beams and shelf plates slot securely into place without screws. This semi-boltless system delivers a rigid structural framework that stays stable during intense daily hand-loading operations.
Finished in a resilient blue protective coating, this versatile steel shelving unit maintains a neat, professional appearance suited for customer-facing backrooms, commercial storerooms, or maintenance bays. The uniform colour guards against general wear while keeping your facility looking organized. If your premises require a different aesthetic scheme, the SP ProSpan 200 kg series is also manufactured in alternative colorways including blue and orange, classic grey, and sleek black, all sharing the identical dimensions and load ratings.
When fitting out a busy commercial stockroom, industrial workshop, or retail bay, selecting this wide steel shelving unit is the most practical choice. It covers two full metres of wall space with a single continuous bay, offering maximum uninterrupted span compared to narrower alternatives within the range. Rather than joining multiple smaller bays, this configuration delivers unmatched continuous storage capacity for wide loads, making it the smartest investment for sprawling floor spaces requiring clean organisation.

Applicable regulations in Ireland · Industrial Steel Shelving Unit 200 kg · 200x200x60 cm · Blue
Domestic use (garage, storage room)
In Ireland, a shelving unit fitted in the garage, attic or utility room of a private home is not governed by workplace safety law: the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 and the General Application Regulations 2007 bind employers, not householders. What does apply is general product safety. Regulation (EU) 2023/988 (GPSR), applicable since 13 December 2024, requires that only safe products be placed on the market (art. 5) and that a distance-selling offer clearly shows the manufacturer's name, postal and electronic address and any safety warnings (art. 19); in Ireland it is enforced by the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission under S.I. No. 726/2024, which also requires that this information, and the safety information supplied with the product, be in English (Reg. 5).. The Consumer Rights Act 2022 adds that goods must come with the installation instructions a consumer may reasonably expect (s. 18) and that an incorrect installation due to shortcomings in those instructions is a lack of conformity (s. 19). Our advice: anchor the unit to the wall against tipping and never exceed the stated maximum load per shelf.
Professional use with manual loading
In Ireland, shelving in a workshop, shop or stockroom with employees is work equipment: the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (General Application) Regulations 2007 (S.I. No. 299/2007) define that as any installation for use at work (Reg. 2) and set the employer’s duties in Part 2, Chapter 2, giving effect to the EU Work Equipment Directive, now codified as Directive 2009/104/EC: installed and located correctly and suitable for the work (Reg. 28); stabilised by clamping or some other means where necessary for safety (Reg. 33), for a tall unit fixed to the wall; kept safe by adequate maintenance throughout its working life (Reg. 31); and erected or dismantled following the manufacturer’s instructions (Reg. 28(o)). Because a bolted unit’s safety depends on how it is installed, Reg. 30 requires an initial inspection after installation and after re-assembly at any new location, plus periodic inspections by a competent person where it is exposed to conditions causing deterioration, with results kept for 5 years. The Health and Safety Authority’s Work at Height / Falling Objects information sheet asks for the maximum safe load prominently marked on all racks, no overloading, and racking checked regularly for damage and not used until repaired or replaced. EN 15635, the European standard on use and maintenance, is a reference, not a legal obligation.
