Description · Industrial Metal Mezzanine

Maximize your space with an industrial mezzanine, the perfect solution to double the usable area of your warehouse or commercial premises. This type of mezzanine, with a robust structure of high-strength steel, supports up to 500 kg/m², ideal for storing merchandise or creating new work areas. Its assembly is simple and bolted, and it adapts to your specific needs, even if your space has structural columns, as we conduct a prior technical study. With 44 m² of usable space and an additional level, this industrial mezzanine is the smart investment to optimize your business.

An industrial mezzanine is the definitive solution for optimizing the entire vertical volume of any commercial space, workshop, or warehouse. This complete kit provides an additional usable surface area of 44 m², distributed on a single raised level, offering dimensions of 744 cm width, 588 cm depth, and a total height of 368 cm, with the floor platform elevated at 2.48 meters. Constructed with a robust, high-strength steel structure, this model allows for the storage of heavy merchandise, packages, cardboard boxes, spare parts, or the setup of auxiliary work areas, supporting up to 500 kg/m² of distributed load per level. Its technical implementation allows for doubling the usable surface area of the premises without the need for complex construction, intelligently utilizing every meter of available height.

The metal structure of this industrial mezzanine is composed of a functional layout consisting of 2 × 2 bays of 3.55 × 2.80 meters, ensuring high stability and structural firmness under continuous loads. Designed to offer completely safe transit on the upper level, the equipment includes an adequately integrated perimeter railing and access ladder. Its assembly process is entirely bolted and straightforward, allowing the company's own personnel to install the kit without complications. Furthermore, it features a protective finish in a blue and orange color combination that shields the structure from daily wear and tear, with a total weight of 1770.30 kg.

For companies that need to multiply the operational efficiency of their facilities, this industrial mezzanine is the right choice compared to smaller alternatives such as a mezzanine or a metal mezzanine with less depth. Thanks to its generous proportions of over seven meters in width and nearly six meters in depth, this assembly is ideal for storage areas, goods receiving zones, replenishment warehouses, or workshops where tools, product boxes, and various materials are kept. It represents a highly profitable strategic investment for those seeking a resistant and functional modular system designed to withstand the demands of daily work.

Applicable regulations in Ireland · Industrial Metal Mezzanine · 7.44 x 5.88 m · 44 m²

Mezzanine floors (building work and fixed installation)

In Ireland, a mezzanine floor is building work: a material alteration under the Building Control Act 1990 and the Building Regulations 1997 (art. 11 and Parts A, B and K of the Second Schedule). Under the Building Control Regulations 1997 a Commencement Notice goes to the building control authority 14 to 28 days before work starts (art. 8); a mezzanine adding floor area inside an existing shop, office, industrial or storage building needs a Fire Safety Certificate (art. 11(1)(c)), and with it the Assigned Certifier regime and a Certificate of Compliance on Completion before use (arts. 9 and 20F). Internal works are usually exempted development (Planning and Development Act 2000, s. 4(1)(h)).

A competent designer calculates the structure to the Eurocodes (I.S. EN 1990, 1991 and 1993) with their Irish National Annexes; permanently incorporated structural steel components are construction products under the EU Construction Products Regulation (EU) 2024/3110, with a declaration and CE marking (art. 17); the execution standard for steel structures is EN 1090.

In use it is a workplace under the General Application Regulations 2007: adequate solidity (Reg. 5), clear emergency routes (Reg. 12), a written risk assessment (2005 Act, s. 19) and, at any open edge, suitable and sufficient edge protection (Regs. 99 and 103). Technical Guidance Document B, the official guidance to Part B, expects fire-resisting structure for a raised storage area in an industrial or storage building unless it is one tier with few people and no public, a stair within 3 m of an exit, fire detection and no side over 20 m.

Recommendation: get signed calculations before ordering, confirm notice and certificate with the building control authority, fix a load notice per level, guard every edge and never exceed the design load.
