Description · Metal Pallet Racking 1000 kg
This 255 cm high metal pallet racking provides Irish facilities with 1000 kg capacity per beam level across a 184 cm clear span. Equipped with 5 beam levels plus floor space, this structure holds up to 12 euro pallets per bay to maximise vertical density. The 123.81 kg kit includes 2 blue RAL 5010 upright frames at 100 cm depth and 10 orange RAL 2002 beams, each secured with a safety pin on its connector. Designed for total load capacities reaching 5000 kg on beams, each unit delivers reliable long-term performance.
Installing this metal pallet racking standard setup maximises vertical density by offering 5 beam levels alongside the concrete floor, establishing 6 total loading heights per bay. Each elevated level fits 2 Euro pallets measuring 800x1200 mm or 1 American pallet measuring 1000x1200 mm. Including floor storage, this unit accommodates up to 12 Euro pallets or 6 American pallets in a single run. Facilities seeking intensive vertical pallet placement within moderate height clearance benefit directly from this detailed configuration.
Engineered with a total height of 255 cm, a frame depth of 100 cm, and a clear entry width of 184 cm, this robust metal pallet racking framework supports high-density storage demanding precision. Each pair of 100x45 mm horizontal load beams handles a uniformly distributed load of 1000 kg, yielding a total framework load capacity of 5000 kg across the upper beam levels. Ground floor capacity depends entirely on facility floor resilience. Designed to fit 2 Euro pallets or 1 American pallet per level, this structure maintains absolute stability under continuous operational weight.
Delivered as a complete structural package weighing 123.81 kg, this metal pallet racking unit includes 2 upright frames featuring 90x60 mm uprights, 6 diagonal bracing bars, and 4 horizontal bracing bars secured with M10 bolts and nuts. Base plates measuring 120x120 mm anchor directly to concrete floors using M10x70 expansion anchors. The 10 beams (1840 mm entry) hook into upright slots via end connectors, secured instantly with 22 safety pins. Assembly requires no specialised tools, ensuring a rigid, boltless beam profile built for immediate industrial duty.
Finished in RAL 5010 blue for upright frames and high-visibility RAL 2002 orange for load beams, this durable metal pallet racking configuration fits seamlessly into commercial operations. Customisation options include steel upright protectors and floor-mounted protection barriers available in RAL 2004 orange or RAL 1023 yellow to prevent impact damage from forklift traffic. To convert beam levels into picking locations, compatible 1800 mm shelf inserts fit onto the levels. Modular expansion allows connecting add-on units that share an upright frame.
Selecting this 5-level setup provides an ideal arrangement for active logistics hubs, industrial storehouses, and engineering workshops requiring organised pallet management within standard building clearance. Combining a compact 255 cm height with 5 beam levels makes this metal pallet racking unit particularly suitable for maximising pallet locations where overhead space is restricted. Facilities store bulk materials efficiently, maintaining complete stock visibility, straightforward forklift accessibility, and structured inventory handling across every single level throughout daily industrial operations.

Pallet racking and forklift operation
In Ireland, pallet racking in a forklift-served warehouse is work equipment under Part 2, Chapter 2 of the General Application Regulations 2007 (S.I. No. 299/2007), implementing the EU Work Equipment Directive (now Directive 2009/104/EC). installed and located correctly (Reg. 28); stabilised by clamping or some other means where necessary for safety (Reg. 33), in practice erected as per the manufacturer’s instructions with the uprights anchored to the floor; maintained throughout its working life (Reg. 31); and inspected by a competent person after installation and re-assembly, then periodically and by special inspection after an accident, a modification or any other exceptional event, with records kept for 5 years (Reg. 30). Traffic routes must be dimensioned for the number of users and the type of undertaking, pedestrians given sufficient safety clearance where trucks share them, and areas where objects could fall clearly indicated and access controlled (Reg. 14). Health and Safety Authority guidance asks for the maximum safe load prominently marked on all racks, racking checked regularly for damage and uprights protected from impact; its Code of Practice on the Safe Use of Industrial Trucks adds that features of the operating area such as racking should be clearly marked and protected against accidental damage. EN 15635, the European standard on the use and maintenance of storage equipment, is a technical reference for organising those checks, not a legal obligation.
