Description · High Bay Racking 1000 kg
High bay racking provides an ideal solution for maximising vertical storage height in industrial facilities with a 353 cm height and 184 cm span. This model features 2 blue RAL 5010 upright frames and 8 orange RAL 2002 beams forming 4 levels, delivering a 1000 kg load capacity per level up to a 4000 kg total beam capacity. Storing up to 10 Euro pallets across 5 loading heights including floor space, this structure ensures safe, direct access to stored goods while optimising footprint efficiency in busy modern warehouses.
Configuring a modern unit with 4 beam levels alongside the floor tier offers 5 distinct loading heights per bay. This setup comfortably handles 2 Euro pallets measuring 800x1200 mm or 1 American pallet measuring 1000x1200 mm across every beam tier, allowing up to 10 Euro pallets per single bay including floor storage. Compared to alternative builds with 2, 3, 5 or 6 beam levels, choosing this specific high bay racking configuration strikes the perfect balance between dense vertical space utilisation and manageable clearance for medium-height warehouse environments.
Supplied as a complete set, the kit includes 4 uprights standing 3525 mm tall forming 2 upright frames, joined by 10 diagonal bracing bars and 4 horizontal bracing bars using M10 bolts and nuts. Four base plates measuring 120x120 mm anchor firmly to concrete flooring via M10x70 expansion anchors. Eight 1840 mm beams featuring 100x45 mm profiles slot directly into the upright slots using end connectors, locked with 18 safety pins 90#. Assembling this high bay racking system requires no welding, delivering a simple component-based installation.
Finished in durable industrial paint, the upright frames are coloured blue RAL 5010 while the load beams feature orange RAL 2002. Integrating this high bay racking structure into busy industrial spaces is seamless thanks to broad accessory compatibility. Facility managers can equip upright protectors or floor-mounted protection barriers in bright yellow RAL 1023 or orange RAL 2004 to shield structural uprights. Adding an 1800 mm timber shelf deck converts any level into lower picking space, while modular add-on bays can share upright frames to extend continuous runs.
Positioning this model inside logistics hubs, commercial storehouses, or production workshops provides an optimised vertical storage strategy. For facilities managing structured palletised goods, choosing high bay racking with 4 beam levels ensures maximum clearance efficiency while preserving direct accessibility to every stored load. The expandable design allows straightforward addition of extension bays over time, making this bay an dependable choice for growing operations seeking long-term floor plan efficiency, structural reliability, and flexible capacity scaling across Irish facilities.
Setting up this high bay racking framework allows facility managers to adjust each beam level along the slotted 90x60 mm upright columns to suit specific inventory clearance heights. Positioning oversized cargo directly on the concrete base while reserving the four elevated 184 cm beam spans for standard 800x1200 mm Euro pallets creates an adaptable vertical layout that maximises storage density without restricting overhead handling.
Anchoring the two upright frames firmly into solid concrete ensures structural stability when loading up to 1000 kg per level. Each 120x120 mm base plate secures directly with M10x70 expansion anchors, while diagonal bracing bar and horizontal bracing bar assemblies absorb vibration from everyday forklift handling. This rigid floor attachment makes the high bay racking kit exceptionally dependable under capacity, keeping all four 1840 mm beam levels perfectly aligned during fast-paced loading routines.

Pallet racking and forklift operation
In Ireland, pallet racking in a forklift-served warehouse is work equipment under Part 2, Chapter 2 of the General Application Regulations 2007 (S.I. No. 299/2007), implementing the EU Work Equipment Directive (now Directive 2009/104/EC). installed and located correctly (Reg. 28); stabilised by clamping or some other means where necessary for safety (Reg. 33), in practice erected as per the manufacturer’s instructions with the uprights anchored to the floor; maintained throughout its working life (Reg. 31); and inspected by a competent person after installation and re-assembly, then periodically and by special inspection after an accident, a modification or any other exceptional event, with records kept for 5 years (Reg. 30). Traffic routes must be dimensioned for the number of users and the type of undertaking, pedestrians given sufficient safety clearance where trucks share them, and areas where objects could fall clearly indicated and access controlled (Reg. 14). Health and Safety Authority guidance asks for the maximum safe load prominently marked on all racks, racking checked regularly for damage and uprights protected from impact; its Code of Practice on the Safe Use of Industrial Trucks adds that features of the operating area such as racking should be clearly marked and protected against accidental damage. EN 15635, the European standard on the use and maintenance of storage equipment, is a technical reference for organising those checks, not a legal obligation.
