Description · Pallet Racking Bays 1000 kg
Choosing high capacity pallet racking bays allows Irish warehouses to store up to 18 euro pallets across 6 total heights including floor space. Designed with a 255 cm height, 100 cm depth, and a 269 cm clear span, this unit features 2 blue RAL 5010 upright frames and 10 orange RAL 2002 beams. Each beam level delivers a 1000 kg load capacity for heavy goods. The 154.81 kg structure includes base plates, anchor bolts, and a safety pin on each connector to ensure maximum stability on concrete floors.
Configuring this unit with 5 beam levels provides 6 distinct loading heights when including the ground surface. Each elevated tier easily holds 3 Euro pallets measuring 800x1200 mm or 2 American pallets measuring 1000x1200 mm, allowing storage for up to 18 Euro pallets overall. Commercial operations needing dense vertical storage within standard ceiling heights will find these pallet racking bays highly effective. This specific setup optimises available vertical clearance without requiring ultra-tall lifting equipment during daily goods handling.
Engineered to handle heavy loads, each beam pair supports up to 1000 kg of evenly distributed weight, offering a maximum capacity of 5000 kg across the beams. With dimensions measuring 255 cm high, 269 cm wide, and 100 cm deep, this structural configuration aligns perfectly with standard pallet dimensions. Choosing these pallet racking bays ensures efficient weight distribution while maintaining absolute stability under full loading conditions. Ground floor pallet storage capacity depends entirely on your slab specification, providing extra flexibility for inventory management.
Supplied as a complete kit weighing 154.81 kg, assembly relies on robust component integration without specialised tools. Each upright frame is built by securing 2 uprights with diagonal bracing bars and horizontal bracing bars using M10 bolts and nuts. The base plates fit securely at the bottom and attach to concrete floors via M10 expansion anchors. Heavy-duty beams then hook into the slot profile via connectors, locked firmly with 2 safety pins per beam level to complete these pallet racking bays.
Visually striking and durable, the upright frames feature a RAL 5010 blue finish, while the beams are coated in RAL 2002 orange for clear high-visibility identification. Upgrading these pallet racking bays is straightforward, as they accept optional steel upright protectors and floor-mounted protection barriers in bright RAL 2004 orange or RAL 1023 yellow. For picking applications, a 2650 mm chipboard shelf deck converts a beam level into standard shelving. Expandable storage runs can be seamlessly expanded by joining add-on modules that share an intermediate upright frame.
This module serves as an ideal solution for distribution hubs, industrial premises, and commercial facilities demanding robust organised storage. Installing high-density pallet racking bays maximises available floor area by utilising overhead space, allowing fast access to stacked pallets. Designed to handle demanding everyday operations in Ireland, this structure keeps goods safe, tidy, and accessible. Whether starting a new storage line or replacing outdated setups, this reliable unit delivers long-lasting strength and complete flexibility for growing inventory requirements.

Pallet racking and forklift operation
In Ireland, pallet racking in a forklift-served warehouse is work equipment under Part 2, Chapter 2 of the General Application Regulations 2007 (S.I. No. 299/2007), implementing the EU Work Equipment Directive (now Directive 2009/104/EC). installed and located correctly (Reg. 28); stabilised by clamping or some other means where necessary for safety (Reg. 33), in practice erected as per the manufacturer’s instructions with the uprights anchored to the floor; maintained throughout its working life (Reg. 31); and inspected by a competent person after installation and re-assembly, then periodically and by special inspection after an accident, a modification or any other exceptional event, with records kept for 5 years (Reg. 30). Traffic routes must be dimensioned for the number of users and the type of undertaking, pedestrians given sufficient safety clearance where trucks share them, and areas where objects could fall clearly indicated and access controlled (Reg. 14). Health and Safety Authority guidance asks for the maximum safe load prominently marked on all racks, racking checked regularly for damage and uprights protected from impact; its Code of Practice on the Safe Use of Industrial Trucks adds that features of the operating area such as racking should be clearly marked and protected against accidental damage. EN 15635, the European standard on the use and maintenance of storage equipment, is a technical reference for organising those checks, not a legal obligation.
